After breaking Anchorage's all time snow record at the beginning of April it has finally STOPPED snowing!!! YEAH!! We are watching our last small patch of white stuff disappear as we speak. Our flowers are already starting to come up in our yard.
Riley and I both had today off and went for our first spring hike. We ended up hiking on snow the whole time (most areas still have a lot of snow) but it was almost 60 degrees out!
Unfortunately, I didn't notice the filter on the camera was cracked until after I took these pictures...
After our hike we drove down the road aways and ate some lunch. Riley is so funny. He made our sandwiches this morning... and just in case there was confusion he wrote our names.
We stopped at the same place about 4 weeks ago. I posted a picture earlier of this same sign, but there was about 5 feet of snow and I could barely get to the sign. As you can tell it is completely clear!

Last weekend we headed down to the Kenai to take the boat out for the first time. We thought we would do a little fishing even though it is still catch and release until June 11th. The boat is pretty luxurious compared to our two man cataraft we borrowed from our landlord last summer. We didn't have to wear waders... which for me is great! I always get so cold after standing in the water for a couple hours. Also, it is nice to anchor up so Riley can fish and not be stuck rowing the whole time.
No fish caught on this trip, but still had a great time.
Our beautiful Clackacraft!
