January

Riley has been working so much and is picking up shifts. The two days off we had together this month we made sure to make the most of them. On one of our days off, we drove with another couple down south and found a gravel area to do some shooting. Maureen is one of my coworkers and we are pretty close. Her fiance Dan and her moved up here about a year ago from Montana. We have hung out with them a few times and will probably do quite a bit this summer. I wanted to try my hand at shooting to decide if I might want to do some sheep hunting with Riley this year. We had a great time and it was nice to get out and be with friends.

We are going ice fishing with them tomorrow. Never gone and it should be fun! Although it says it is suppose to be -3 to 3 degrees outside! We are going to bring our propane heater and firewood. Apparently you can build a fire on the ice... again all new to me! We will take pictures and let you know how it goes.

We have had a really mild winter so far (knock on wood). It really hasn't snowed a lot and the temperatures have stayed primarily above 15 degrees.  We are enjoying it!!

My work is going well, although instead of slowing down after December my hours went up.  We had multiple corporate visits in a row and it sure made for a stressful month.  But the last one was on Thursday and I can finally breath.  They all went really well and as my boss put it, "My stock just went up".  Nice to hear after my team and I did a lot of hardwork over the last month to prep.

This weekend I took three days off!  I had a couple comp days saved up from the Holidays and was ready to use one of them!  Riley had to work so I made dinner and brought it to him at the hospital.  I made a triple batch of my Mom's lentil soup recipe and oatmeal muffins, it's one of my favorites.  As usual I hung out with him for a few hours just watching TV and chatting.  I sure am thankful he has a job where I can go visit for a few hours.

We will keep you posted on how ice fishing goes!  Miss everyone!
