Riley called me yesterday afternoon to let me know he shot a caribou the day before. I asked him if it was larger than the one he got the year before. He kind of laughs and says, "yeah, about 5 times bigger". He shot it right outside of their camp.
I am so excited for him to get home and see the animals and pictures of where he was at. I am sure he will recap his trip for you (much better than my little bits of information)!
Jerome(the guy he went with) also got a sheep and caribou. So between the 2 of them they have 4 large game animals they got in about 4 days. They spent so much time packing all the meat out back to the landing strip, it sounds like they were exhausted!
If all goes to plan they will be coming out on Wednesday afternoon and getting home late that night. I am sure he will have pictures up on Thursday. My Mom an I have been joking we will be cutting meat all day Thursday with him. He is going to have a lot of cutting when he gets home.
